Outsiders: South Peaks
This year marks 70 years since the inception of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act of 1949, which allows each and every one of us access to our National Parks, a privilege that we now take for granted, which was hard fought.
Its purpose is to preserve and enhance areas of outstanding natural beauty for us and future generations. Yesterday 6th April marked the first day of National Parks fortnight and across the 15 National Parks in Britain there’s some 61,000 km of paths to walk, so get outside and breath some fresh air. Last week we spent the day in the south Peaks, on a fine Spring day complete with a train journey, extended café stop and an essential pint in the pub on our return.
