The North Face

In the beginning there was a celebration, now the thing of modern folklore, The Grateful Dead played, and Hells Angels ran the door; the year was 1966 and the celebration was for the opening of the very first The North Face store in San Francisco, selling climbing and camp equipment to Californians.

Fast forward over 5 decades that little store has developed into one of the most significant brands on the planet, the logo (designed to represent a huge granite monolith in the Yosemite National Park) has become ubiquitous.
