It is, of course, made from hard-wearing and reassuringly heavy Deerfield cotton canvas, with a diamond-quilted lining to bolster the style’s heat-retaining properties. The hood is detachable, and when it is, the silhouette, what with its four pocket front, corduroy collar and loose fit, smacks of old-world workwear. A truly burly beast for wintertime.
