That classic four-pocket configuration and relatively short shape gives them a definite '70s hiking flavour, while that tough stretch nylon brings them right up to date. Plenty of space in the pockets... comfortable elasticated waist... crotch gusset for leg freedom while scrambling over boulders... if you're after a pair of hard-wearing, do-everything shorts then it's hard to go wrong here. The drain-holes on the pockets are a clever touch too, especially for those fond of the occasional mid-hike river plunge.
