Decidedly retro, the Mont Blanc Jacket is a commemorative piece in honour of Montbell’s 50th anniversary. Design-wise, it’s an exact recreation of an original Montbell jacket, featuring wide baffles, a detachable hood, ribbed cuffs and billowed front patch pockets. For the insulation however, the Mont Blanc boasts a contemporaneous EXCELOFT synthetic insulation. Not only is EXCELOFT extremely lightweight for synthetic, it’s also hydrophobic and continues to insulate even when wet. This is encased in a 40-denier nylon taffeta that’s been treated with DWR for protection from inclement weather.
