Timeless' is a good word to describe the Gannel Jacket from Finisterre. Rather than try and stay bang up to date with all manner of technical fabrication, they've called upon the time-honoured weather-beating combo of cotton and nylon to create this particularly dignified piece of outerwear which will work now, tomorrow and ten years from now.
Inspired by vintage functional outerwear, with definite shades of classic workwear and military design, it's got a large press-stud storm flap down the front to help keep the breeze out, along with a detachable hood when the clouds open. That throat-tab collar is a nice detail too-helping to pop the collar for an extra layer of defence from the elements.
