It's maybe best described as a big jacket that doesn't feel like a big jacket, if that makes sense? REPREVE recycled polyester insulation packs in the warmth without the weight, while that short shape means it's a bit more nimble and wearable than some winter coats. That big storm flap on the front helps to keep the wind out, and there's an insulated hood which can be quickly buttoned on when the temperature well and truly drops.
