The Free is a seriously lightweight freestanding tent courtesy of the ultralight pioneers at Gossamer Gear. Touted by Gossamer as the lightest double-wall freestanding tent ever made, it weighs just 935.8g, making it a solid option for thru-hikers looking to keep the weight right down without resorting to trekking poles or tarps.
Made from a custom fabric which combines 15D recycled Robic nylon with a 20D dope-dyed ripstop grid for durability and water-resistance, it's not just a fair-weather option either, and with a hydrostatic head of 4,923mm you don't need to worry too much about grey skies.
Thanks to the colour-coded foot-pieces you can throw it up in minutes, and because of that freestanding design it can be pitched anywhere. A prime ultralight design from Gossamer built for travelling fast.
