Built around Merrell's most advanced 'fast hiking' shoe, the Speed Arc Matis GORE TEX straddles the border between trail runner and walking shoe, combining lightweight GORE-TEX lined mesh uppers with Snow Peak's impeccable use of colour.
The most obvious thing to talk about here is that unique double-layer FLOATPRO sole, which is maybe best described as an 'inverse s'more' sandwiching a nylon plate between two chunky, marshmallow-esque foam layers for plenty of bounce to the ounce. Add in that speed-lacing system and those chunky 3mm lugs and you've got a supremely capable pair of off-road shoes.
