Puff Smock - Grey

Masterful ultralight innovation from Japan's Yamatomichi. Devised for instant warmth at the camping spot, the Puff Smock is a unique hoodless smock made using PrimaLoft's RISE Sleeping Bag insulation. As the name suggests, this stuff was originally created for sleeping bags, and when it comes to warmth without the weight, is hard to beat. Because it's synthetic it still retains heat and loft when wet, making it a good option for damp weather. Two layers of insulation on the chest panel helps retain core temperature and allow quick hand-warming, while that sleeping-bag style baffled collar stops warm air from escaping from around your neck.

Meanwhile, on the outside you've got the equally revolutionary Pertex Quantum nylon. Not only is this stuff seriously lightweight and highly windproof, but Yamatomichi have given it a titanium treatment to inside face, helping to reflect heat from inside back towards the wearer.

What else? The offset zip avoids rubbing on your chin, and raglan sleeves give your arms plenty of room to move. There's an internal drawcord in that big chest pocket to cinch the hem in too.

Few quick points on storage - Yamatomichi recommend storing these loose rather than compressing too tightly in a stuff-sack, to help it retain loft. Hand-wash and hang-dry.
