Ultralight by name, ultralight by nature, the UL All Weather Jacket is a seriously well-thought-out piece of outerwear from Japan's Yamatomichi. The brand describe their 'UL All Weather' gear as a new type of clothing they call 'All Weather Activewear' which rethinks the way we use rainwear. Rather than rely on heavy and stuffy waterproofs, they propose using ultra-light, breathable shells that you can keep moving in. This jacket is a perfect example of what they're talking about.
Made from a revolutionary nylon nanofiber called Pertex Shield Air, not only is it unbelievably light, but it's a lot more breathable than traditional rainwear, meaning that it works particularly well for those travelling at pace. That unique fabric is combined with ultrasonic welded seams to keep the raindrops out, while that big front pocket means it'll stash away nicely when not in use.
Chi our Buying Admin Assistant used this to walk the Yorkshire Three Peaks and wore it for the entirety of the hike and thereafter. He gave it a glowing review.
